Phase 2, randomised, double-blind, placebo- and dulaglutide-controlled trial of retatrutide in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. N=281. Results were published in The Lancet: at 36 weeks, the highest studied dose (12mg, titrated via a 2mg starting dose) produced a mean HbA1c reduction of -2.16 percentage points and a mean body-weight change of -17.18% from baseline, versus -0.30 points and -3.28% respectively on placebo, and versus -1.36 points and -1.97% on 1.5mg dulaglutide (an active glycaemic-control comparator, not a weight-loss comparator). A related body-composition substudy was separately published in The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology in 2025. These are 36-week Phase 2 figures in a type 2 diabetes population, not the larger Phase 3 TRIUMPH-2 trial.
